Art Time

With all this rain, Molly's hair has been EXTRA curly lately:

The Easter Bunny brought Molly some finger paints, so we had our first attempt at art time!

You can see she is eager to get started!

She wasn't too sure about it once she actually started touching it!

I think more paint wound up on her tummy than on the paper!

She would stick her finger in the paint and then look at it and then touch her tummy...I'm lucky her finger didn't go in her mouth!

Then she was DONE with the highchair.  I attempted to have her stand in the regular chair, but she was not interested.  This was the ending result!

The end result was a Get Well Soon drawing for Gramps.  We are going to hand deliver it to the hospital after school!

Going on an Egg Hunt

This was not Molly's first Easter, but it was her first Easter Egg Hunt!  And boy did she know exactly what to do!  When she woke up, she enjoyed emptying out all of the goodies from her Easter Basket.

Then Molly and I went to church and when we got home, the Easter Bunny (a.k.a. Daddy) had visited our backyard.  She was so excited to point out all the eggs and then go pick them up one by one, she did not even hesitate!  I thought it would take longer, but she was done hunting in ten minutes flat!

We went to my parents' house for Easter lunch.  Unfortunately, my dad is back in the hospital and wasn't there to be with us, so Molly, Blake, and I ran up to Presby to visit him after we ate.  Molly is getting mighty used to the hospital rooms, she really loves visiting Gramps there.

We did another little egg hunt with Gracie at mom and dad's.  This egg hunt included cascarones (confetti eggs).  Usually the babies get scared and cry because of them, but Molly didn't!  She wasn't quite sure what to make of them, but she did not cry!

A Date with Eben

This last Friday we FINALLY got to spend the afternoon with Molly's first friend, Eben.  We went to The Children's Museum at Fair Park and these two had an absolute BLAST!

Forgive my terrible picture taking, I am still trying to figure out this new camera.  I am sure it is all user-error, but it might require another new camera this Christmas! :(

They have a farming/ garden area where the veggies sit in these holes in the ground and the babies can pick the veggies.

Going after something that fell in the hole...who knows!

She loved riding the rocking tractor!
She wouldn't say "cow" but she knew EXACTLY what it was!

Loved playing at the water table!
Even with the smocks, they were both sopping wet!
This would be why...she was trying to drink the water (yes, I know, yuck) and was just pouring cupfuls down her front!

Getting veeeeeeery sleepy!
Walking up and down the foam steps no problem!

This is how I play...

Molly's newest way to play with mommy or daddy...if you lay on the floor with her to read a book or play with a toy, she thinks she has to be ALL up in your business!  The other day she actually wound up sitting on my neck, but no biggie, she was happily reading her book!  What a mess!

For Sale!

So this past weekend, our house was finally listed on the market!  Blake and I have spent the past three weeks working our tails off trying to get everything "market ready".  We had the remainder of our foundation done (which is a huge and costly MESS!), we put in a new toilet, new kitchen faucet, and repaired cracks and touched up paint.  Not to mention that we had to CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!  I reorganized closets, and got rid of many things and packed up many things for the storage unit.  It was exhausting!

BUT, the final product looks pretty good if you ask me!  One perk to having your house on the market is you come home to a clean house every day (because I am forced to leave it clean every morning)!  Never in my life, have I made my bed in the morning....but now, I do.  It looks nice, but really, what's the point?  No one EVER sees it but us, and we really don't care (sigh).

Anyhow, here it is, in all it's teensy tiney glory:

This was MY house, I bought it when I was 23 and single....there was no Blake, Molly was not even a twinkle in anyone's eye.  It was the biggest big-girl thing I had ever done, and I did it all on my own (of course, mom, dad, and Steven helped with many home improvement projects, but I did quite a bit of it on my own!).  So a part of me will be really sad to see it go (should it sell) but I know that we are really outgrowing it with baby number two on the way!

Blake got the call at work today, they are showing it between 12:30 and 1:30 today...I hope it looked good!  I have been working my tail off to get it clean and picking up after Molly every morning is no easy task.  I guess this will be a test of my housewifely abilities! ha!
