Mommy Brain Strikes Again- UGH!

How in the world did I post last night without
mentioning the BIGGEST news of all?!?!
When I was pregnant I blaimed this on 'pregnancy brain'
and now I am blaiming it on 'mommy brain.'
I used to pride myself on my steal-trap mind,
 I never forgot ANYTHING.
What is happening to me???

On Saturday, January 29th,
MISS MOLLY ROSE
took her

VERY

FIRST

STEP!!!!

Blake was gone to help my sister move,
Molly and I were playing in the living room.
She was standing there and I called to her and she took a STEP!
She then stepped with the same foot again,
and of course, FELL.
And OF COURSE, I acted like a fool cheering for her,
in only the way that a MOMMY can!

It is SO incredibly exciting to watch her do these new things.
And YET, incredibly sad at the same time.

This weekend I looked at Molly
and I no longer saw my little baby.
Instead, I see a little girl.
FULL of mixed emotions about it.
Why does this baby stuff go by SO quickly?

I KNOW there will be a day
(probably when she is a teenager)
that it will seem like she is going to be a teenager for FOREVER!

Why do the fun stages, like now, seem to go
by so FAST- AHHHHH!!!

On to other fun things!  Blake is gone coaching a basketball game tonight, so I got busy sewing Molly's Valentine's Day outfit....what do you think?

Up close- both pinks have hearts on them
I have either pink ruffled pants to wear with it OR white leggings.  And of course she will wear it over a long-sleeved white onesie.  I think it turned out well!  I will definitely post pictures of her wearing it!

Happy Monday evening to all!  Waiting to see what the weather has in store for us in the morning....bad weather day at school?????

What a Gorgeous Weekend!

Oh my goodness, this weekend could not have been any more beautiful!  I cannot believe it is still January....of course, I'm sure the weather this Tuesday will remind me!

We had a very busy yet relaxing weekend.  I had so much fun spending lots of quality time with Blake and Molly!

Saturday morning, Blake helped my little sister, Elysa, move to a new house.  Molly and I met them for lunch at Blue Goose on Lower Greenville after they were finished.

The rest of Saturday and Sunday were SO gorgeous, we spent as much time outside as we could.  We adopted a hand-me-down slide from Molly's cousin, Grace.  Molly absolutely loves it!  When I put her at the top of the slide, she leans forward immediately so she will go down the slide.  I have to be fast otherwise she'll go without me!
Lucy came to check on Molly

Love, love, love that baby

We also spent some time in the swing.

We explored the courtyard.

And then we played a little in Molly's room.

Tonight Blake cooked our entire dinner on the grill.  He makes excellent ribs!  He also made packet potatoes and squash and zucchini.  It was all VERY yummy!

I have also been sewing quite a bit this week.  I am going to a baby shower this weekend so I was busy making my gifts.  It is for a baby boy, so it was really fun for me to pick out and design things for a boy!

I made this new bundle of joy three different sets of a onesie, a bib, and a burprag.

I also made him two hooded bath towels.

I hate saying goodbye to such a wonderful weekend.  But I guess we are off to a busy week of school.  Is it too early for me to start counting down the days until summer?  :-/

Finally Friday!

Thank goodness it is FINALLY Friday!

All week we have been taking turns not feeling good.  Luckily Molly has been feeling pretty good despite a runny nose and little cough!

Today was SUCH a pretty day outside!  When we got home, Molly and I played out on the breezeway.  She loves to play through the door with the dogs.

Everything was going so well.....until....

Rowdy barked a little too much, and this is what I had on my hands :(

So what is a Mommy to do when she has a screaming baby on her hands???

Yes, let her play with the silverware (no knives, I swear) while you unload the dishwasher.
See the happy face?  Less than 30 seconds after the meltdown.

Looking forward to a relaxing weekend at home with my baby!

Busy Busy Weekend!

We had a jam-packed weekend over here!  Friday night Molly and I went up to Plano to watch Blake's basketball game.  I got the absolute cutest picture on my phone of Molly intently watching the game...but I don't know how to get it from my phone to the computer.  Guess I have lots to learn about the iPhone still (like how to put it on silent, not just vibrate, but silent- who knows?)

Anyhoo...I digress.  Saturday afternoon, Molly and I went to our dear friend Eben's First Birthday!  It was the most spectacular birthday party that I have ever seen!  Eben's mommy, Brooke totally out-did herself (and anything I could ever dream of doing)!  Molly had so much fun playing with all of Eben's new toys.  And before we left, Molly and Eben were just smooching away.  It was totally priceless!  And the best part, the photographer was standing right there and got pictures of the whole thing!  As soon as I can, I will post copies of them!

Tonight, Molly was 'Little Miss Helpful' when it came to bathtime.

She helped me get all of her toys into the tub.
And she was so excited to get in and play with the bubbles!

After Molly goes down at night, I have been busy with my sewing machine.
These are a few things I made for my sister to give as a baby gift.

A few other goodies...

And tonight I made Molly a new hooded bath towel.  All the ones I have for her must be made for newborns because they definitely are too small!  And new ones are a bit pricey, so I made one myself.  I am going to find some cute trim or rick-rack to put on it this weekend when I have time to go to the store.

I have also decided that now that I have Molly, I am going to start decorating for ALL the holidays.  Before I have just done Christmas, but I remember my mom decorating for all holidays, and I want to do the same for my Molly.
SO...I have been searching online for Valentines decorations and copied some of what I saw...

And I have one other idea that Blake had to cut some wood for, and he did it very happily! <3  Pictures to come of that once I get those done (it involves sanding, painting, mod podge!)

There is nothing better....

...than a baby in footed pjs!

How cute is she?

sleepy baby (this is why bedtime is 6:30)

If I have my way, she will wear them until she is fifteen!

Sleepy baby!  And how cute are these jammies?  I got them WAY on sale at the Children's Place.  Rarely do I pay full price for anything, always out for a good deal!

Speaking of...made a trip to Sam's on the way home from school today and I got the cutest little summer outfits for Molly for SO cheap!  Carter's rompers and dresses for only $5.44!  These are $20+ at department stores.  So I got her more than one!

~Maybe I shouldn't be talking about money on here, Blake is going to read this, love you honey~ ;)

Molly is sound asleep and Blake is gone to "a dinner", which is not nearly as fancy as it sounds or as he presented it to me- it really just means wings and beer with friends!  But I'm off to sew a bit and get things cleaned up before he gets home.

Big Night in MollyLand!

My little Molly is SO SO funny!  When I am cooking dinner, Molly likes to find different ways to entertain herself in the kitchen.  Tonight she had all of my dishtowels on the floor with her, playing peek-a-boo.  She is such a mess!

She was still sitting there playing when Daddy came through the door.  Molly gets so excited when she sees Blake walking in.  And clear as day, she said her first word, "HI!" right to her daddy!  SO precious; Blake and I were SO excited!  She repeated it a few more times this evening.  Something new to add in her baby book!

As you can see, Molly loves to play peek-a-boo.  She plays around the wall in the entry way, moving herself back and forth, peeking out from behind the wall.

The Beginning

Allrighty people, I find myself absolutely consumed reading everyone else's blogs, so I finally decided I need to start one myself.

I haven't decided what direction I want to take with this yet, but most definitely there will be updates of what is going on with my precious little Molly!

So stay tuned for current happenings!  I am not very good with this type of thing, so I am reeeeeally pushing myself this year and I promise to try to update this a few times a week!
